A 3-day summer camp by MHHS Robotics × Hackathon × Circuitry

Design and build your own robot from real VEX V5 parts, then bring it to life with sensors, sensor input, and feedback control.
// About
MHHS Robotics, the MHHS Circuitry Club, and the Hackathon Club come together each summer to host a hands-on STEM camp for grades 1 to 8. Across three days, students get a real taste of robotics, circuitry, and programming through three of the largest STEM programs on campus.
ROBOTICS CLUB
Design and build your own robot from real VEX V5 parts, then bring it to life with sensors, sensor input, and feedback control.
HACKATHON CLUB
Develop coding foundations through Python by exploring iteration, sequences, and selections that programs are built from.
CIRCUITRY CLUB
Dive into circuit design by following hands-on science demonstrations and activites that show how electricity really works.
This camp runs once a year during every summer. Registration is currently closed and opens as summer approaches. Check back then, or follow @mhhs.robotics on Instagram for the announcement.
// Curriculum
The Engineering Design Process: identify, brainstorm, plan, build, test, improve, repeat
Assembling a robot with real VEX Robotics parts and equipment
Controlling robots with motors, batteries, code, and sensor feedback
Autonomous robot control and iterative programming
Series and parallel circuits, and fundamentals of circuit design
Electrical components and microcontrollers, such as Arduinos
Python basics: loops, logic, and the software development lifecycle
Data structure fundamentals - arrays, lists, and more
Participation helps prepare students for MHHS Robotic, VEX Robotics Competitions, the Circuitry and Hackathon Clubs, personal programming projects, and CTE classes in the engineering and computer science pathways.
